This blog chronicles my trips through rural Kansas to find the buildings that once housed the Independent Order of Odd Fellows fraternal organization.

Green, KS

This is the former IOOF lodge in Green, KS.  The current population of Green hovers around 100. Like many former lodges, it is hard to determine the origin of the lodge and cause or date of its closing.  The Green lodge seems to have been most active from 1905 to the late 1940s. The building in Green was used as restaurant and community center of sorts through the 1970s.  Since then, the building fell into disrepair.  It is scheduled for demolition in the fall of 2015.
